18 week baby update

This week I finally went to see Dr Barr on Monday and thankfully the Quad test came back clean so we are not at high risk any longer... the first test was a faulty test and was taken too early. I then went today(Wednesday) to get another ultrasound from the specialist just to confirm that was the results showed were correct and they are. Charlie is 9oz and his legs, arms and skin on his neck all look normal. They found a little white spot on his heart which they said is a sign but he has no other signs of down syndrome so baby Charlie is pretty much in the clear and mom is done with the specialist and extra appointments YEAH!!!!!!
I got to take my mom with me today so she got to see the Ultrasound the first thing the tech did was confirm he is definitely a boy:)

Then she spent a good 1/2 hour trying to get measurements and again he kept his hand under his chin or hid his face. He also would move and turn anytime she tried to take a new picture. What a stinker. My mom says he gets that from his mother. (HAHA)
He had his little legs crossed it was cute.

She said with 3d pictures sometimes it makes everything look like a blob. I said this picture makes him look part dog with human arms and legs.

Best of all here is his cute little face and those hands.

Gabe and I are very relieved and happy, thank you to all of our friends and family for your support.
We love you all.

Charlie or Sophia

Gabe and I decided that I would take the QUAD test... for those of you that do not know what this is I will explain.

The QUAD test is a blood draw that looks for four different levels in my blood for me and the baby. It is used to screen for the possibility of spinabifita and genetic issues such as down syndrome. I had this done on last Thursday because I was between the time frame of when they can do the test which is between 15 and 20 weeks. I received a call Tuesday morning from my Dr saying they found a slight chance that Baby R might have down syndrome so she wanted me to go see a specialist.

So yesterday Gabe and I went to see the specialist to find out what in the world was going on. Talk about my emotions going crazy(hormones I tell ya). We first saw a counselor who asked us questions about our genetic history(neither of us have any genetic issues in our families). Then she started to explain how important the timing is on the test. If it is to early then it maybe a faulty test so the first thing they want to do is an ultrasound to see how far along I really am. Then we could go from there.

We spent an hour getting the ultrasound before talking to the Dr. It was funny to watch Baby R because Baby R kept covering it's face. Like it was playing peek-a-boo. Baby R also has a mind of it's own and would stretch it's foot out all the way (Gabe was happy to see Baby R did not have my crooked toe :).

What we learned was my due date is April 6Th the test was done too early. I am not out of the clear yet I have to take another quad test on Tuesday next week. We will hopefully find some news out soon. One thing we did find out is if Baby R is a Charlie or a Sophia which was pretty amazing.

Seeing Baby R in 3 D was cool too... here are some of the pictures.

What we learned yesterday was not much other than Charlie has a mind of his own and I am now due on April 6, 2012. I will update again once we get the results on how Charlie is doing next week.

That's right we are having a Charlie!!!!

What I did this week

Gabe went out of town this week to Houston for work so I went to my mom and dads with my girls. It was nice spending time with my mom since my dad was also gone all week. She made me yummy chicken filled crepes... I realized that I really can't eat like I used too. I fill up way to fast.

My girls had fun to with Maxie, Maggie and Mia. I got a kick out of all of Maggies sleeping positions. My Favorite was her twisted in the chair. Zoe was a trader and slept with Grandma all week and Josie was my little cuddler.

On Thursday my dad came back from Indiana and I wish I would have taken a picture he told me to come check out his Z4 convertible, so of course I did. There was a baby car seat that he is going to use for his grand baby. It was so cute he was so proud. I love that he is so excited for his future grandchild. It makes this even more special...

On Friday I went back home because Rich and Becky were coming to visit. Becky and I went with Jenni to this great baby rummage inside Greendale High school and other then diapers I bought my first baby stuff. I got a bouncer and toy and quit a bit of neutral colored baby clothes. We then met up with Aunt Mo and my mom at the Empty bowl where we had yummy soup and got some cool looking bowls to take home.

Gabe was finally coming home so Becky and I went to pick him up at the airport where we watched as the conveyor belt got jammed and wrecked our suit case. Now that was fun. I think my horns came out and the supervisor at the airline could see the smoke coming from my naustrals and Becky's. We make one heck of a team.

But then we got home to a super wonderful surprise. Rich had put in a new fan and light in the babies room but to my surprise and put a new light in our bedroom too. He has great taste. I woke up this morning going ewwww that's so pretty. Bye bye 1960's light :)

Our new light

Babies Light

Then we headed to Cedarburg for their 2ND annual German Fest. It is tiny but cute. Jenni, Jeremy and Jacob met up with us. Jacob is so darn cute. He saw some girls using the hoola hoop so he wanted to try so Uncle Gabe had to show him how. It was funny and pathetic:)

After that fun and excitement it was time to eat. Rich and I wanted Turkey legs so we waited and waited and waited and finally got some yummy turkey legs. I ate 4 bites and was done so Gabe came to the rescue.

It was such a great weekend!!!! I got my honey back, spent time with my girls and my handy honey and let the reality of "we are having a baby kick in".

3rd Dr's Visit

Well today Gabe and I went to the Dr for our 3rd visit. Baby is doing good. Heart rate was at 150 and from what Dr Barr says it should be between 120-170. The baby actually moved while the Dr was listening for the heart beat...it was pretty amazing.
We get to go back the first week in November and we get to find out the sex of the baby. I can't wait!
Nothing else is really new. My girls are doing good and I am still nauseous as can be.

Dr's Visit

Last Friday I went to my Dr's appoint to have my first ultrasound. What an amazing moment to hear the babies heart beat and to hear my husband say wow over and over again. It went way to fast.

During the visit we found out there is only one little peanut. Gabe called the baby is little Mexican jumping bean with limbs :). I loved it.

We also found out that the due date has been moved to March 31. So that makes me 6 days farther along which would be nice because this first trimester is tuff. I am sick all day and night so if any of you moms have suggestions or tips please share....I will try anything.

Our next ultrasound will be right before Thanks Giving which will tell us the sex of the baby. My mom said that she already knows that it is going to be a girl so she has been shopping. She is either right or I am going to have a baby boy with a lot of pink stuff. LOL

Part 4 of 4 Europe trip...myths and beyond

Throughout this trip we have made memories that will last a life time and I am so grateful that we had the opportunity to do this with my parents.

Along the trip we saw some birds we would never see around here, buzzards, eagles, owls and then the best of all storks. The first monastery in Switzerland we went to the chimneys had storks and their nest.

Then we went to my Great Aunt Izetta's house to have an amazing spaghetti dinner and my mom spilt red wine. My Aunt said, "Oh, someone in this room is going to have a baby!" I looked over at all my cousins and laughed because Gabe and I knew that we were going to have a difficult time trying to have a baby. Having a baby of our own would be a dream come true!

Then we went to Eppendorf and again there were more storks. This was getting all too weird!!!!

By the end of the trip our friends and family were saying we can't wait to meet your baby. Gabe and I just looked at each other because they did not know what we know...that this was something we dreamt of but believed impossible without help.

And then we came home... to find out that...some myths maybe right.

That's right our trip to Europe really will last a life time!

Little baby Ramon is do to arrive April 6Th(good Friday).

We get to find out on Friday if there is one or two and if baby Ramon is doing good.

Part 3 Gabe and My dad

So here we are at a 5 star restraurant celebrating Karola's 70th birthday and our 3 year anniversary.

My father saw a statue and had a great idea and of course Gabe would not be Gabe if he didn't try to be a part of this photo opportunity LOL

It starts with Gabe and a naked statue

That's right he did it!

Part two of Europe

Our Friends and Family... one of the best parts of our trip. It was so nice for Gabe to finally meet the people that are so near and dear to me and who have always given me the best memories through out my life and I finally had the chance to have my wonderful hubby there.

In this picture is my families dear friends who are truly my extended family. We went to one of the oldest Monasteries in Germany to taste the yummy beers. Yum!!!!

In this picture it my dad is sitting with France again in a beer garden :)

After a few days in Regensburg we went to Eppendorf which is part of the old East Germany. It is also the town that my Grandma grew up in. The town celebrated their 675 anniversary and my grandma got to see old friends, have a reunion with her old coworkers from the shoe factory she worked in and a school reunion where she went to over 60 years ago.

While she was busy doing that we got to enjoy our surroundings by going to Dresden and Augustusburg. If I could suggest a place to visit this would be the area. Gorgeous and the history is amazing.

Every night we would come back to the hotel to an amazing meal and time spent with the fam.

Here is George wearing Gabe's hat looking cool :)

Angilica and me chilling out on the patio at the hotel.

The beer hmmmm....yummy!

The family sitting inside for one great meal!!!

Mom, dad and I having a good old time.

We spent 6 days in Eppendorf before heading back to Regensburg to celebrate with Karola's birthday and our 3 year anniversary. I can't wait to go back!

Summer 2011 Europe Trip Part 1

Gabe and I spent an amazing 18 days in July traveling through Switzerland, Germany and Part of Italy with my parents. It was the best trip I think we both have had in a very long time. While we were in Switzerland we stay with my Uncle Walter and Aunt Anita in Frauenfeld and spent a day in Zurich visiting my Great Aunt Izeta and her family. She makes amazing spaghetti, it was so yummy.

After a few days in Switzerland we went to Neurschwanstein on our way to Regensburg Germany. We took a fairy across the lake and it was so blue an beautiful.

Here is Neurschwanstien from below.

We took a carriage ride up and then had to walk the rest of the way. There were little waterfalls everywhere is was beautiful.

Once we were in Regensburg we spent a few days with our Family and Friends and went to the Whalla Halla which is a beautiful Marble building that looks out over the Danube river. There are 365 stairs and 52 collums and on the inside are marble statues of people that have made a difference in Germanys history.

We also spent a day in Regensburg where we went to the Domes, Saw the oldest torchure chamber in Germany and were my parents were married by the courts (which was three floors above the torchure chamber).

We also went to Freedom Hall which was created by Kind Ludwig who also created the Whalla Hall. It was amazing. We climed up this spiral stair case that took us outside the view was amazing I was so scare so I clung to inside wall butat least I did it.

We ended our trip in Regensburg by going to the Church where my parents were married and my brother was baptised. It was beautiful.

Well, this only takes us into day 6 there is definately more to come in the future.
