Gabe's the Big 29!

Friday was Gabe's 29Th Birthday so one week before hand, very last minute we decided to try to get our friends together on Saturday to celebrate Gabe's B-day, since we knew Rich was coming to work on the plumbing since we finally have counter tops. Well after all weekend of updating our pipes on the hot water heater and in the kitchen. He did not get to finish because our faucet we bought was not the right type. So he generously came down on Tuesday and finished the kitchen sink, dishwasher and fridge water. I was joking because the pipes looked great and our water heater was last serviced in 1996 and previously 1990 so our water heater is most likely 25+ years old, that I said "watch now our water heater is going to break" Guess what it did! So Rich came down early on Saturday to put in a new water heater and fix the leak in our main water line that goes into the house. So Becky and I used our skills and talents to rush and get everything done before our friends showed up. We made it just in time, hot water and the food was ready.
I did not take any pictures that night. Honestly just forgot. But I did take one adorable picture. Zoe made a new friend with Michelle and when Michelle went home Zoe looked like this.


She was very upset that Michelle left her. It was really cute and sad. Thank you to all our friends for making that night so great for Gabe. He has needed this for a really long time.

On Sunday, I got up early and spent 5 hours making Gabe's Birthday Cake(a coconut, lemon creme cake with a boiled icing frosting)(Don't try that at home) It was really good but man was it a lot of work. I also made 2 apps, main dish, salad, and two sides of course all from scratch. I must really love him. HEHE (He is way to spoiled)

I took this one of Luna and her Uncles. She is so cute, she does not say Gabe or Benito she just says "Uncle" or "Uncle lets play WII" she's better then all of us.

The dreaded cake. I needed a vacation after this one.

Thank you to our family and our friends for making Gabe's Birthday so very special, it means a lot to us. I am also Glad that after 7 months you all had an opportunity to see what progress we have made. We still have a lot more work to do, but there is nothing like a little hard work and alcohol that won't help :)

Work Holiday Party

In December was Kohl's Holiday Party They turned the corporate building into central park with an Ice Skating park, sleigh rides, Snow man making areas, and tons of food and hot chcocolate. Since Jenni, John and I all work for Kohl's Julie, Cole, Jeremy and Gabe got to join us. It was a blast.

This was round two of finding ethnic food, another building another selection.
